When to Seek Emergency Care
Certain situations require immediate attention at an emergency room rather than a walk-in visit at our clinic. Please seek emergency care or call 911 if your child experiences any of the following:
- Severe Difficulty Breathing: Persistent or severe respiratory distress.
- Uncontrolled Bleeding: Deep cuts or wounds that wont stop bleeding.
- Severe Head Injury: Loss of consciousness, confusion, or severe headache following an injury.
- High Fever with Rash: High fever accompanied by a new or worsening rash.
- Severe Abdominal Pain: Intense stomach pain that doesnt improve.
- Seizures: New or prolonged seizures or any seizure in a child without a known seizure disorder.
- Severe Allergic Reactions: Swelling of the face, lips, or throat, difficulty breathing, or severe hives.
- Poisoning: Ingestion of toxic substances; contact poison control immediately.
